EASY AU GRATIN VEGGIES

Take advantage of the new microwave steam
bags for this easy vegetable side dish.
Use fresh or frozen veggies..
3 cups mixed cauliflower and broccoli
florets.
1/4 cup (4 ounces) of your favorite finely
shredded cheese
2 tablespoons Italian bread crumbs
1 tablespoon crushed pecans or almonds
(if desired)
A dash of freshly grated nutmeg
Steam veggies in the microwave as directed
on the steamer bag. While veggies are
cooking, toast the bread crumbs and crushed
nuts on a piece of aluminum foil in the
oven or in a heavy skillet. Stir nuts
and bread crumbs together, and grate in
a little nutmeg.
When veggies are finished, dress with
1 tablespoon butter or margerine, salt
and pepper to taste, then transfer to
serving bowl. Srinkle lightly first with
cheese, then the bread crumb mixture.
Makes 4 servings.
Also wonderful with diced potatoes or
leeks.
